Holiday spirit

Few things summon the holiday spirit more than building gingerbread houses with friends. Luckily, I got to do this yesterday! Before the holiday break, my roommate, both of our girlfriends, and I wanted to end the semester on a high note. We had a lovely evening together, suited in formal wear, starting with a “fancy” steak and potato dinner, complimented with salad and biscuits (for college kids, this is as fancy as it gets). We even used the fancy silverware and cups! Christmas music was playing the whole time; it was lovely! After dinner, it was time to build a gingerbread village, with each of us building own our house. Icing, gumdrops, Reeses, sprinkles, coconut, chocolate chips, and other goodies served as decorations and structural elements. Before long, we had creations we were proud of, but more importantly, we had spent time and had fun with friends.

This holiday season, be sure to do something that you enjoy, and involve your friends. There is no better way to kick off the season and be filled with the holiday spirit!
